Coordinated Image (Immagine Coordinata)
The set of graphic elements, fonts, and colors that a company adopts to become visible and recognizable to clients and/or consumers. The image is considered "coordinated" when various communication elements (such as logo, letterhead, envelope, business card, and website) are consistent with each other.

Digital Image ( Immagine Digitale)
Any image processed by a computer or acquired via electronic devices is considered digital. Depending on how they are created (i.e., the coding method), digital images fall into two categories: bitmap (or raster) and vector.

Bitmap (or Raster) Digital Image ( Immagine Digitale bitmap o raster)
"Bitmap" literally means a map of bits: the data in the file assigns a color and position to each base unit of the image, the pixel. Depending on how many bits are assigned to each pixel, the image can display a specific number of color combinations. For example: 1 bit per pixel allows for only two colors (black and white); 4 bits allow 16 colors; 8 bits, 256 colors; 16 bits, 32,768 colors; and so on.

Pixels are arranged in a grid of defined dimensions called a raster. The more densely divided the raster (pixels per cm or inch), the higher the quality of the displayed or printed image (see also Resolution).

Vector Digital Image ( Immagine Digitale vettoriale)
In a two-dimensional space, such as a computer-designed sheet, each point is associated with two numbers indicating its position relative to a fixed origin. Each shape drawn in this space connects points using mathematical functions. This allows for scaling the image without losing quality, reducing file size, and easily editing the design.

Typographic Imposition or simply Imposition( Imposizione tipografica o imposition)
In book or publication printing, this refers to the layout of pages on the printing sheet to ensure the correct print sequence. In packaging, imposition refers to the precise placement of graphics on the die-cutting layout for each individual item.

Printing Plate Preparation ( Impianto stampa)
In offset printing, this refers to the creation of films (one for each color) used to produce aluminum printing plates (again, one per color) necessary for printing. When using Computer to Plate (CTP) technology, films are no longer required.

Impression
The result of hot foil stamping or embossing.

Gluing ( Incollatura)

There are various gluing stages within cellulose-based production processes:

In paper mills, for certain multi-layer papers or boards;

In corrugators, for making corrugated cardboard;

In box plants, for assembling transport boxes;

In lamination, to bond different materials together;

In folder-gluers, to prepare the final packaging shape.

A wide range of glues is used, with increasing focus on eco-friendly and recyclable adhesives.

Line Spacing (Leading) - Interlinea
The distance between the baselines of consecutive lines of text. The choice of spacing is essential for text readability.

Insert (Internal Divider)
A structure used to protect the product and/or enhance its display at the point of sale (as in some countertop displays). Unlike standard partitions (like honeycomb inserts), internal dividers are custom die-cut and often shaped according to the product.

Promotional Islands ( Isole promozionali)
Designated spaces used to promote products, typically within retail environments.
